A More Humane way to Raise Pork
As compared to the confined pig operations where most of the pork found in our grocery stores comes from, pastured pork have the freedom to graze grass and alfalfa on our pastures. They return the favor by providing us with a vastly superior pork product.
Pastured Pork is Better for Everyone
Confined pork operations don't make very pleasant neighbors due primarily to the amount of pig manure produced. The cesspool can foul the air for miles around and in some cases contaminate the ground water. Pastured pork creates no such cesspools.
Pastured pork is much less likely to be contaminated with E.coli. due to the over use of antibiotics. Pigs kept in overcrowded confined pens are often placed on low levels of antibiotics to keep them healthy enough to reach slaughter weight.
