Shipping FAQ’s

Baron Farms will ship our grass-fed products to our Pacific Northwest market region which roughly encompasses Washington State, Oregon, Northern California, Idaho, western Montana, and the northwest corner of Nevada.  This market region essentially represents where UPS can deliver by ground within 2 days.

We can ship elsewhere. However, please be forewarned that using shipping methods other than ground (air) is expensive. If you live outside our market area and still wish to order our grass-fed products, we will provide you with a shipping estimate prior to shipping the package to you.

1. How do you package the meat for shipment?

The meat is wrapped in butcher paper and frozen to -20 degrees fahrenheit. We take a sturdy cardboard box and line the inside with 1.5 inch styrofoam insulation.  This approach will insure that the meat will arrive at it's destination completely frozen.

2. Why do you only ship to the Pacific Northwest?

Actually, we will ship elsewhere but the shipping cost can become substantial. By shipping anywhere UPS can deliver within 2 days by ground allows us to deliver our products inexpensively and frozen.  Depending on where you live, often, the shipping cost is less than what it would cost for you to come and pickup your beef.

3. How heavy is the box or boxes UPS will deliver to my door step?

Generally, except for our chicken products, the boxes will weigh roughly 50 to 60 pounds. If your freezer isn't too far from your door step, you may wish to open the box on the door step and transport the meat to your freezer.

4. What if I am out of town when my order is ready to ship?

We will not ship your order until we have contacted you and know that you will be able to receive the delivery. If you are going to be away, we'll hold your order until you return.

5. I work during the day and UPS usually is in my neighborhood making deliveries before I get home. What happens to my order then.

Unless you specifically instruct us, we will ship your order instructing UPS to leave your order on your door step even if no one is home.  You will also get an email from us when we have delivered your order to UPS allowing you to 'track' your order from any Internet connection.
