Not Sick But Placed on Antibiotics
In a move it should have taken decades ago, the FDA will phase in over a three year period restrictions on the indiscriminate use of antibiotics in bovines and pigs. Antibiotics have for years been given to feed lot bovines and caged pigs to both 'prevent' disease and promote weight gain. With human resistance to our current class of antibiotics becoming a significant threat to human health, it only makes sense that using them in our food supply to simply promote faster growth is a dangerous practice.
